With a fresh install of Ubuntu 17.10 in French, with the latest version of the Firefox distro package (updated to Quantum this morning), I can spot at least two strings that are not localized for Pocket, see screenshots.

Of course they are correctly translated in Mozilla binaries on other platforms, and most likely in the Linux binaries as well.

Does it happen even installing a langpack over the official en-US build?

I see the strings in the .xpi, and I kind of remember all changes to langpack happening in 58
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/57.0/win64/xpi/
en-GB, en-ZA and fr langpacks were already installed, but even after installing the specific one above and restarting, I can still reproduce

Oh, just got what you meant. Yes, I can also reproduce if I install the official en-US binary with the French langpack.
Can you load view-source:chrome://pocket/locale/pocket.properties explicitly? Just to make sure this isn't timing related.

It’s loading properly, and I can see the missing strings
Over to pocket then, we need to retrieve strings later in the startup path, and/or cache less.
