Details

If we're going to do automigration in any form, since it's not cancelable, we should ensure that we can limit the negative effects of pathological cases. This also opens up the possibility of running an automigration before the browser window shows up, and before the installer window closes. If we can ensure that a migration lasts less than 10 seconds, then this might significantly improve users' perception of the performance costs involved.
