The only printing related bug I found was the printing tracking bug, so here is
this feature request. I would like to be able to print calendars. Since I
believe most of the UI is built using HTML-related XUL, this could be done by
sending the XUL to the navigator printing API maybe. I don't profess to know
what I am talking about fully, but that is an idea.
That's already on the requirements list:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/requirements.html
Maybe someone can fill in the URL to the requrements document in the bugzilla
URL field of the tracking bugs?
Agreed. As is, this is a duplicate of bug 122655. We should probably morph
this into ability to print a particular view (Brant, what's your favorite?), and
mark it as blocking 122655.

I changed the summary per comment #2. I also updated the platform and OS
properly and marked this as blocking 122655.
This is how I would prioritize printing support:
1. Month
2. Week
3. Day
Month should be first to have printing support since it is the type of calendar
typically hung on a wall. It is also the type that is normally added to when
appointments come up. Seconde is a week calendar since it is typically the type
used normally for planning more detailed events and to-do type items. Day is
the least useful type of printed calendar since it can only be used for a day.
Of course, this ranking is only my opinion.

Sending this to nobody so someone might take this up on their own.

Nothing should be assigned to nobody. How can nobody get anything done? It is
my understanding that someone can accept the bug without it being assigned to
nobody. If I knew more about how Mozilla is programmed, I might try tackling
this, but I have little knowledge and no experience.

Hi
Many thanks for a great product! Just want to clarify what the print feature
would like for me, the dumb user ;)
we'll presume it's the month, as that is the est. priority as stated above
user finishes adding data to the month
toolbar > tools> export> save as... html
save dialog mycalendar.html (default for DDMMMYYYY?)
export is finished
user views finished calendar
the calendar, ideally, should look just as it did at time of export except with
a few enhancements due to space limitations in viewing area
icons should be used for categories and status (user specified icons in the future?)
keywords should be used sparingly to conserve viewing area in 30 blocks of data
user clicks on event icon
new window pops up (javascript?)
details of event are viewed
contact email address for publisher of event is included
option to save this event to the oh-so-cool Mozilla friendly browsers/calendars
this is how I, the humble user, would imagine the event sequence of using a
published calendar...and I can tell you right now I know about a dozen people
who would go to mozilla just to have this feature, to publsh simple
sophisticated calendars...
thanks for considering my ideas AND for a great app!
