Steps to reproduce:

Nightly on MacOS 10.13.1 
Go to about:support
Ask Nightly 2017-11-21 to restart in safe mode
The Nightly app closes and restarts but hangs at a blank tab with the beachball showing indefinitely
I have to Force Quit Nightly

I could reproduce that when you reported this but I could not find a regression range at that time.
I tried it today again but could not reproduce the hang.

Mark, do you still see the hang in a current nightly ?

I can't reproduce it in Nightly 2017-12-02. So best to pretend it never happened?

I will mark this worksforme because this seem to got fixed by an unknown change.
