I'm using mozilla mail connected to a Imap server within the compagny. I have "Local Folder" stored on the network (which is backuped every night when my local drive is not, that's the reason why i stored my local folder on the network). It happen once that the network drive was unavailable (machine down). Then i moved mails for my Inbox to my "Local Folder". Mozilla didn't check if the connection was OK. So, mails has been remove from my Inbox (imap server) and never been copied to the "Local Folder" since the network drive was unavailable.
I'm not in a position to test this, but: OUCH, major data loss->critical. Changing summary to someting more descriptive
Severity: normal → critical
Summary: connection check → mails moved to "local folder" on network drive deleted if network drive not available
I have to specify something. I tried to reproduce it, and i notice that if you open Mozilla mail when the network drive is not available, you simply dont have access to your "local folders" but, if the network drive come unavailable when mozilla is already open, then my problem happen...

Note: I have not had this problem. I just disconnected a computer from the router, and tried to move mail to it. It said it couldn't transfer.
Reporter writes "I'm not using Linux anymore in my work since a while so I can`t tell if the problem is still valid." => WFM per comment 3
