Start from an e-mail with an embedded image. In the case I'm looking at the
<IMG> is inside nested tables, FWIW.
Position mouse over the image, right-click.
Among the choices are 'Save Image As . . .' - click it: Nothing happens.
Also active choices include 'Save Link Target as . . .' and View Image;
both do nothing. I'm not sure whether a visible image should allow the Link
Target functions - it makes some sense to me but it duplicates the Image functions.
Possibly related to Bug#138074, but here the Image is not being viewed as a URI.

I am experiencing the same lack of functionality in the contextual commands:
"Save Image As..." & "View Image" when viewing e-mail with embedded images.
This is a tool I use often and with success on Netscape 4.79. I am running
Windows XP home edition Version 5.1.2600 Build 2600 and Mozilla build 2002052306.
I first noticed this behavior on .gif files in daily e-mail delivery from
U-Comics.com, and have found no exception when checking embedded, non-attached
images in my e-mail archives.
