Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/62.0.3202.94 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
My Firefox version is: 57.0 (64-bit) up to date
For example: http://www.example.com/%C3%A4
Firefox Developer Tools > Network > click row > Headers
This will show:
Request URL: http://www.example.com/ä
Chrome is showing:
Request URL: http://www.example.com/%C3%A4
URLs can only be sent over the Internet using the ASCII character-set. And the "Request URL" is about what will be sent over the internet. This is not ä, but %C3%A4. So in contrast to Chrome, Firefox is not consistent with the definitions. This can be really confusing for people who are new to programming.
After typing this bug, i saw: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1314184, probably the same, but this one is 8 months old and still has "Status: UNCONFIRMED". I'm pretty new here, so maybe that's normal, but 8 months sounds pretty long to me (too long).
Actual results:
"Request URL" has wrong value.
Expected results:
"Request URL" should have right value.
