User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0
Build ID: 20171112125346
Steps to reproduce:
SVG fragment identifiers are becoming more and more popular to create SVG sprites (I know sprites after HTTP2 are not as relevant, but compact code is still nice).
So I use the this method a lot to load my vector images in one filed
Actual results:
Every time Firefox comes across a new fragment in the save SVG (icons.svg#pen, icons.svg#bin, etc.) it loads that same SVG file again (in this case icons.svg) which is unnecessary and defeat the purpose of sprites.
Expected results:
The SVG (in this case icons.svg) should be cached and shouldn't be requested from the server again when it is referenced with a new identifier (hash). Other browsers handle this well.
