Details
(Keywords: testcase)
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0
Build ID: 20171127221115
Steps to reproduce:
Checked the link that's set to underline on http://www.sopacameraclub.com/
Actual results:
You can see the "SOPA Newsletter" is not underlined as in other browsers.
Looking in inspector you can see that <a> has underline, but the span within has Browser style text-decoration: none for some reason, if you check show-browser-styles on the span.
Expected results:
It should underline naturally and inherit underlining as in Chromium.
Unless something changed it shouldn't have that style if I'm reading this correctly:

Luke,
I confirm your finding. The "SOPA Newsletter" is not underlined in Firefox 52.5 ESR. I have underlining links checkbox checked in about:preferences#content .
The "SOPA Newsletter" is underlined in Chromium 62.0.3202.89.
Are you the web author of that sopacameraclub.com site?
Can you create a reduced test out of that webpage?

Okay <...deep breath...> . After 2-3 hours of careful removal/weeding out code, I finally was able to create 2 reduced tests out of the www.sopacameraclub.com webpage:
http://www.gtalbot.org/BugzillaSection/Bug1422207-nested-inline-flex-interferes-underline-001.html
http://www.gtalbot.org/BugzillaSection/Bug1422207-nested-inline-flex-interferes-underline-002.html
Firefox 52.5 ESR does *_not_* underline "SOPA Newsletter SOPA Newsletter" in both tests.
Chromium 62.0.3202.89 underlines "SOPA Newsletter SOPA Newsletter" in both tests.
First, I can not say if this is a CSS specification violation: I have no specific or relevant knowledge of 'display: inline-flex'.
Second, I have not searched for a duplicate, that is if, to begin with, Firefox 52+ is violating the CSS spec in the first place.
For now, I am rewording the bug summary accordingly.
Keywords: testcase
Summary: Firefox causes a links to have no underline, although it seems this is not in the default stylesheet. → Nested inline-flex interferes with 'text-decoration: underline'

According to Daniel Holbert commenting in bug 1344545 comment 1, Firefox is matching the spec and Chrome is not.
Therefore, I think we should resolve this bug as a DUPLICATE of bug 1344545 .

The steps given in bug 1344545 are exactly what my 002 test is doing. So I am resolving this bug as a DUPLICATE of bug 1344545.
