Details
Using the May 3 build of Mozilla for OS/2 I have twice now seen an issue where files I download from the internet are being given a .exe filename extension in addition to their existing filename and extension. This has occured both with a .zip file (became .zip.exe) and several mp3 files downloaded from AmpCast (became .mp3.exe). The .exe is misleading, though, because the files are not executable. For instance, the .zip.exe file could not be run from command line or double clicking in the WorkPlace Shell desktop environment. I had to rename the file and unzip with unzip.exe as normal. Unfortunately this issue seems to be inconsistent. I have successfully downloaded some .zip files without them getting a useless .exe filename extension. P.S. I am _not_ using Mozilla build 20020403 even if this form tells you that I am. My title bar and "About Mozilla" page both show build 2002050308.

Don, thanks for the report. We append the .exe on zipfiles served as application/octet-stream, at the moment. This is an incredibly unfortunate misfeature.... Marking duplicate of the bug that will fix this. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 120327 ***
