User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/62.0.3202.94 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: We're running a BigBlueButton server (you can use it for test purposes on https://deneb.informatik.uni-ulm.de/). Some user are complaining about a flash-fallback (no WebRTC sound). So we tested it with https://mozilla.github.io/webrtc-landing/gum_test.html and FireRTC. The problem/symptom we could identify is that firefox is not having any outgoing udp packets in this case. On the same client it is working with chrome. We only have one client with a persisting problem the rest of the client problems are intermittent. Actual results: No outgoing udp packets so no sound on WebRTC Expected results: udp packets should go out with WebRTC and there should be sound

The User Agent of one machine with intermittent Problems "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0" the problem was there in older Versions too. The User Agent String for the Machine were the problem is permanent: "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0" The problem was in Version 56.0 there too.

Couple of clarifying questions: - do the clients receive and palyback the audio from the BigBlueButton server or if it doesn't work then there is no audio in either direction? - testing on https://mozilla.github.io/webrtc-landing/gum_test.html always succeeds? - in case of the failing client does one line in the ICE-Statistiken area switch to succeed (because it shows only on in progress which is an earlier state)? - could you attach the connection log from about:webrtc (or send it to me if you don't want to attach it here)?

I was able to reproduce the problem with Firefox 57.0.4 (64-bit) on macOS 10.13.2. The problem doesn't occur always, but (roughly estimated) at about 90% of the trials. Please find the cube logs of an occurred problem attached (as a file upload to this bug). Especially when using my Bluetooth Headset (Logitech H800), it seems that the problem can be triggered more easily - compared to the builtin microphone. The microphone is definitely working. In the audio settings of macOS, I can always see the incoming sound level correctly, so the sound is actually captured and reaches the OS' mixer. Google Chrome doesn't show the problem when using the same WebRTC applications (in my case: Big Blue Button).
I am testing on windows 10, Nightly and I am not able to reproduce the error using the configuration setup extracted from the logs. Can you please check if this is still a case?

On macOS 10.13.3, the problem persists with Firefox 59.0.1 (64 Bit). I could narrow it down a bit more: It only occurs when using my Bluetooth headset (Logitech H800). When using the MacBook's internal microphone, the problem does not occur. I've attached cubeb logs for both situations: "cubeb-log-macos-headset_broken.log" and "cubeb-log-macos-internalmic_working.log". I am quite sure that it is related to the "2018-03-22 16:25:45.639836 UTC - [12117:CubebOperation #1]: E/cubeb /builds/worker/workspace/build/src/media/libcubeb/src/cubeb_audiounit.cpp:2939: (0x12b567800) Error when getting device !" message in the log.
We have two bugs here. The Windows bug is now fixed (in Nightlies 20180321040527 onward. Will be released in Firefox 61). The OSX bug I can repro sometimes using a pair of Sony WH-1000XM2.

We've fixed this I think, but I don't remember which bug. In any case, I'm still using those Sony headphones, rather often with my macbook, and it works as it should.
