The request is to add referential integrity to the addy book. If a entry is dragged from one address book to another, an implicit copy is done. The request is to store the entry only once and reference it from any address book that contains it. This would keep the info sync'ed in all reference and reduce disk consumption.

Workaround is to use multiple LISTS within the same Address Book because lists are just pointers to subsets of the same set of records. (i.e. cards in 2 different lists in the same address book are really the same card.)
Don't you think that many people would EXPECT it to be a copy, and would be surprised and annoyed if the original changed when they edited the copy? Possibly if it was an option to update the original, but that seems like overkill.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. I would like to see this RFE implemented, as well. Request that it be re-opened. Thanx, Jim H. (aka CuriousJ)
I only want one "true card" for each person in my Address Books. I want to be able to create links to that card in other Address books, and be able to edit either the original or any of the copies and have them all updated. Thanx, Jim H. (aka CuriousJ)
