User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:56.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/56.0 Build ID: 20170926190823 Steps to reproduce: Just install Firefox on Android 4.4 (Lang RU). Change default Search Engine for Google instead of Yandex. (Optional) Can even delete Yandex from Search Engine. Add Firefox Widget to the Home screen Actual results: Whenever I click search on a Widget I see Yandex still selected there. (in my specific case) Yandex won't even work because it's blocked in country where I live. Expected results: If I set another search engine in Firefox, shouldn't it have changed it in widget too?
The search widget has been removed in future releases.

You mean the one which contains FF shortcut on the left and New Tab on the right? Why would you do that? https://i0.wp.com/starkravingfinkle.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/fennec-swipeup1.png
Yep, you did it. I bet because "telemetry data provided information that amost nobody used it". Reminds me removing Start from Windows. Also you removed letter-airplane and added whole row "Share a link". How did it end up for Windows 8 and MS? Have a nice year.
Reopen the bug? New name would be: Search engine outside of Firefox window isn't changed accordingly. What happens: When you go to recent apps on Lollipop and click Search you get the same problem.
Nope, ignore my comment above. Looks like new beta gets rid from this feature too. Hope it stays beta for a long time further.
