User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0
Build ID: 20171206101620

Steps to reproduce:

Login in https://wiki.mozilla.org/Main_Page and browse on different pages

All work ans I am loged

Actual results:

After some times if I keep a tab open on Wiki Mozilla (on any page) , and when browse again, I am log out

That happen on all platform Ubuntu or Windows , Firefox 57.02 , or 52.02esr

Expected results:

Wiki Mozilla should keep my account log in as my preference is set to keep it
I get same results Nightly or Beta on Win8.1

@Eziegenhorn to have a look please!
I don't see this behavior, can you give more details such as how long you were logged in (or how many page loads, or how long of inactivity) before seeing it log you out, if you see a log out page, etc?
It just happen now :
(I logged in this morning an hour ago)

I open a tab on https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases that is in my bookmarks : I am logged ;
then open the page https://wiki.mozilla.org/Special:RecentChanges in the same tab from the left menu and I see on top right of the page that I was logout

It's look like cookies where outdated (or deleted) after some times

As an admin on the wiki I go in and do things several times in any 24h period and have seven tabs on various pages of interest. In the past I have not had to log-in for several months at a time.
Recently every time I go to do an adminy thing I have to log-in - this morning I approved a new account request (after loging in) and just now - two hours later I have had to log-in again.
So it seems to ignore/forget/invalidate session data after less than one hour.
By the way - this only seems to be causing a problem with the wiki - I can stay logged-in to Facebook, Twitter, eBay, Amazon, and multiple other websites.

Please have another look eziegenhorn@mozilla.com - log-out happens after one hour it seems and is still happening.

I've learnt to live with it but (shrug).

Ah I'm sorry about that. My team was reorg'd and this is no longer something I work on. This is in the correct queue.

Thank you :)
Any chance this could get prioritised? The wiki makes out a central
part of how this project communicates.

This is pretty annoying for me, I get logged out from the wiki constantly and have to re-login.

From doing some reading I think setting $wgObjectCacheSessionExpiry to a higher value would solve this (the default is 1 hour). That probably can be added to https://github.com/mozilla/wiki.mozilla.org/blob/master/LocalSettings.php

Is there any chance someone can try that with a value of 604800 (1 week) to start? I can submit a PR if someone is willing to deploy it.

This has been an ongoing issue for quite a while (check the multiple duplicates).

We have a proposed solution (in comment 16 above) but we need someone to implement it on the staging server for testing.

All of my server contacts have left Mozilla so need advice please from @mhoye as to who to contact.

I think we're making progress on this; once bug 1486858 has moved along, we'll be in a position to make this change.

As a short term work around, I have installed the addon Tab Auto Refresh (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/tab-auto-refresh/) - this refreshes my WMO tabs periodically to stop me being logged out.

Not a fix but a suggestion :)

There is a "Keep me logged in" check box on the log in page, but it reportedly[1] just increases the logged-in time from 1 hour to one hour.

That check box should be removed or made useful.
