Chinese support in Version 9.9-3 asp about 10% of Chinese can not be displaied and returns ?? it is the same composing new E-mail as to reading - The web Browser shows Chinese OK We are talking about Simplified Chinese
Are you using a mozilla.org build or Debian/Suse package ? (if yes : invalid)
Was the Chinese mail sent in gb2312 or other Chinese encodings? Could you attach a testing mail to this report? The mail has to be sent in Simplified Chinese character encodings if you want to make the mail displayed ok after received. To do this, on mail compose window, before the mail is sent out, select View | Character Codings | Simplified Chinese (gb2312) or select other Chinese encodings from View | Character Codings | Customize

Comments from Otto: It seams to be a problem with Linux system font Simsun, after re-installing the font three times it now works, but the Chinese Auto detect does not seam to detect the Chinese, and when manual selecting it can take up to 2 min to display the Simplified Chinese ( GB2312 ) But now there seam to be a problem when inputting Chinese in Mozilla Mail Composer when selecting the Chinese input, and starting to write it freezes for about half a minute, and then everything is OK.. Sorry for the other, I now know it was a Linux front problem and not Mozilla.. Regards Otto Willum Nielsen Marked this bug as wfm. For the other issues, like auto detector and Chinese input, please file as seperate bugs if you stil see them on the latest build. Thanks.
