User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 Build ID: 20171206182557 Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the example on https://developer.mozilla.org/de/docs/Web/HTML/Element/select 2. Click and hold the mouse button on the select 3. Move the mouse a tiny bit and then release the mouse button Now the current hovered value is selected and the dropdown closes. This does also happen when repeating the steps with a 'natural' click behavior. Actual results: The current hovered value is selected unintended Expected results: The select dropdown should stay open until a second click is happening on the actual value to select it.
Some users may use it to quickly select without second click.

Yes, it should be possible to hold down the mouse button and select a value. But currently you have to be very precise with the mouse to open a select, because the smallest mouse movement will close the select immediately. This has definitively changed in Firefox 57.
(In reply to hendrik.behncke from comment #2) > But currently you have to be very precise with the mouse to open a select, > because the smallest mouse movement will close the select immediately. I can not see this effectively in Firefox 57 & 58, it seldom happens.
