142686 - Incoming messages that are deleted by filters still bring up the new mail notification icon

I have a mail filter rule that deletes certain unwanted messages as they arrive.
However, the new mail notification, both in the taskbar, and the little envelope
icon on the bottom left corner of the browser window show that there are new
messages.

Upon opening the mail window, no folders show any new mail, as expected. 
However, the account is showing itself as having new mail.  By clicking on the
account node, and then back to my mail box, the status is updated to be correct.

When deleting incoming mail using a filter, the new mail notification should not
be sent, unless there is also other mail that has not been deleted.

Yes, indeed this makes sense, especially for unexpierienced users who might
think this is a bug in Mozilla

Please see comment 5 of bug 91498. Sometimes a filter is to filter mail to the
trash or some other "repository" and you might want the flag cleared. Other
times, I would assume, people are filtering important mail to a folder.

Maybe the option should be "Mark mail as read before filtering."

In any case, this and bug 91498 are certainly dupes, but since this bug is
assigned, maybe mscott should make the decision of which one to mark a dupe.

I noticed a similar problem, that is without question a sheer bug:
Even if right-click on the Trash folder, and choose "Empty Trash"
(so that the meesages are deleted from the disk),
even so the NewMail icon shows. To clear the icon,
you need to click and bring focus to any folder of the mailbox.

Naving/Scott, wouldn't you say this is a DUP of bug 91498 - our notification
code piggybacks into biff itself, so if biff is incorrect, notification would
be, too (it seems).
