For what it's worth: on my Linux machine, Firefox Nightly is a bit faster than Chrome here.
I started them side-by-side (in equal size windows), and the burst-counts incremented at about the same rate, though by the time I got up to ~200, Firefox was 10-15 bursts ahead.
(Also: for anyone running this, be sure to test with equal sized windows. Window-size makes a huge difference in timing here.)

andreip, can you still reproduce slower-in-Firefox results here? (in equal-sized windows)

For what it's worth, we got mixed results when triaging - smaug got the same results as me (Firefox slightly faster), while jesup saw chrome being a bit faster.
Ugh, I wish I could share the react app I worked on a while back. It is really easy to demo Chrome obliterating Firefox with it.
I'll ask and see if I can share.

Thanks -- if you can share it, please file it as a new bug, since it may exercise different stuff from the benchmark that this bug was filed about.
(and if/when you file, bonus points if you put "[qf]" in Bugzilla's "whiteboard" textfield -- that'll make it more likely to get on the radar of performance folks)
