From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020417 BuildID: 2002041717 When rendering superscripts after an italicised character, a little extra horizontal space is needed to prevent the characters running together -- whether or not the superscripted character is itself italicised. e.g. <i>7th</i> ("7" and "t" run together) Another example: <i>X-2</i> In a Serif font, the "-" sign merges with the top-right serif of the "X", making it very easily misread as <i>X2</i>. (If this was a mathematical formula -- and these are generally italicised -- the misreading could be serious.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: View HTML as in example. Actual Results: Characters run together. Expected Results: Clear space around characters.

As someone who writes and reads math a lot, I should note that I would _never_ inflict math in HTML on a reader.... :)
