1428625 - Long Delay before on every first webpage connect (try)

Steps to reproduce:

Open Firefox, type any URL or search engine text-to-be-searched for, click on "return" arrow to start search

Firefox 57.0.1
Android 6.0
Lenovo C2 (K10a40)
no addons except default cisco h.264
no themes etc.




Actual results:

Firefox needs up to 45-60 secs to even start (trying) to connect to any URL, or pass entered text to default search engine.

Blue progress bar on top starts at ~ 10%, then stops without any further visible action.

Tried to:
- "Quit" Firefox, including delete private data, including Cache
- "Force Stop" on Android System Settings
- empty "cached data" in Android settings (Storage&USB->Internal Storage->Cached data)
- Reboot Android

--> No change.

This issue is completely independent of any network connection or potential issue with network connection. All other networks based apps, email etc., and also Chrome, are working fine. 

And this issue even happens in OFFLINE mode, first after the mentioned delay Firefox "detects" that no network is available and "Server not found" page is shown. 

Most of the times this issue only happens once, then anything runs as fast as to be expected. Both online connects "offline detections". Only once means, as log as Firefox stays open. As soon as Firefox was "Quit"-ed, issue/delay happens again.  Same when Firefox is OOM-killed (see bug 1426551), when Firefox is going to be "active" again, delay will take place as described.


Expected results:

No delay should take place, as all the time before. 
Even 57.0.1 worked fine for a while, after upgrade, at least as far as i rememeber, not 100% sure when delay happened for the first time.

If this might be a local problem on my smartphone, I of course would give it a try and reinstall Firefox. But as I have a lot of bookmarks and a lot of saved logins, master password protected, I really would like to be able to backup the logins. I'm familiar with Firefox and Thunderbird profiles on Linux and Windows, but not on Android. And it seems that I have no visible access to any Firefox installation directories, as I'm using an external sdcard, formatted as internal storage, which "hides" the "real" internal storage. Any hints welcome
