Steps to reproduce:
Click link in external program (Thunderbird, program help function, etc.).
Actual results:
Link opens in new tab/window after 1-2 minutes.
Expected results:
Link opens in new tab/window after a few seconds at most.

I cannot reproduce this issue using Firefox RC 57.0.4, on Windows 10 x64 using several links from Thunderbird.
Could you please retest this issue using a new clean Firefox profile (https://goo.gl/7Fec9d), maybe even safe mode (https://goo.gl/AR5o9d), to eliminate custom settings as a possible cause and report back the results?

Issue stopped occurring on its own. No apparent cause for start or stop of issue.
