143012 - Tree View in Preferences does not respond since update to 1.0RC1

Since I updated to 1.0 RC1, the tree view in the preferences dialog does not
respond. On the right side of the dialog, you can adjust settings normally, but
you cannot switch to another tab, because the tree view on the left side does
not respond. Also in Mozilla 0.9.9, if you selected Edit->Preferences, the first
entry in the tree view was expanded. In RC1, it is not. If you select
View->Apply Theme->Theme preferences the dialog opens with the theme preferences
on the right side (normal), but the tree view on the left side is unchanged (no
entry expanded, does not react on clicks).
I deinstalled RC1 and reinstalled 0.9.9, and the problem was gone. After
deinstalling 0.9.9 and reinstalling RC1, the problem reappeared.
I did not find a report in bugzilla, since this is in my opinion a major problem
(you cannot adjust preferences), there could be some specialty with my system.
Unfortunately I have no clue about what could cause this behaviour.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Mozilla
2. Select Edit->Preferences
3.

Actual Results:  Preferences Dialog Box opens, Tree View not expanded.

Expected Results:  Tree View should be expanded, and the appropriate line should
be selected. Also it sould react on clicks.

I duplicate that behavior (the tree isn't open to the Theme prefs), a minor
issue, BUT the tree does respond to clicks on my system.
