Starting on January 11th, websites that use Helvetica fail to render properly on my 64bit Debian 8 machine. The attached screenshot shows all the letters rendered on top of one another.
The modification was made in this set of changes:
https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=e61c4485494ec4823da22217f665d73858c57e35&tochange=8142a68bf0a7b44c2502888ba6b2a930edf428fd
If someone can point me to builds inbetween those two changesets I can easily test. I'm not sure where to find non-nightly builds anymore.

You can use mozregression for finding a smaller range: https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/

This is probably bug 1430216. Please re-test after that fix goes into Nightly.

Yes, this was likely that bug as well. I can confirm that text looks correct again using today's build: b7d66e4e60ef177ec9ae687daa29443ae4a2acfc
