User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 Build ID: 20180103231032 Steps to reproduce: Running Windows 10 x64 and FireFox latest version when I try to access specifically this URL http://legacy.speedtest.net and I move the map with the cursor in order to position to the preferred city. Actual results: As soon as I move the map with the cursor FireFox hangs and utilized a lot of CPU resources. Only option is to kill firefox.exe process. I tried the same scenario with IE and Chrome but do not experience this issue. I also tried to uninstall and do a clean install of FireFox but nothing has happened. I also tried beta version of FireFox but nothing happened. This issue I never had it before. Expected results: I should proceed with consultation and speedtest test.

Summary: Flash causes FireFox to crash → legacy.speedtest.net causes hang
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 (20180103231032) I have tested your issue on latest FF release (57.0.4) and latest Nightly build and could not reproduce it. I can see a spike in CPU when I move the map with the cursor but it gets back to normal around 20% in 5-10 seconds, also I did not experience a hang. Could you try to reproduce in clean profile or firefox safe mode and report back the results? http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode

Hi Stefan, before posting this bug I did what you already asked me to do. I tried to remove (temporarely) current profile and run FireFox clean. No results. I tried to run FireFox in safe mode but in this mode FireFox does not have Flash (unless I did not know how to run Flash in safe mode). I know that this is an isolated issue because in other comptuers I do not experience this issue but at the same time I do not know what to think of. I know that for future needs I will run speedtest from IE or Chrome but I thought being strange that on the same machine FireFox would behave in a very strange mode when other browsers run fine. Please let me know what else you need. You are welcome for a remote session if needed.

Thank you for your reply. Could you let us know what version of flash is running on your machine so I can try to reproduce with it?
Hi, Adobe Flash version 28,0,0,137 Microsoft Windows 10 Home x64 Ver. 1709 Build 16299.192 Mozilla FireFox ver 57.0.4 (64 bit)
Firefox 58.0, Windows 10 - x64 bit, Adobe Flash version 28.0 I tested your problem too on the latest Firefox 58.0, Firefox Developer edition 59.0b2 and Firefox Nightly 60.0a1 and the task manager showed the following CPU consumption (while moving the marker) Firefox -> 15% - 20% Firefox Developer Edition -> 20% - 25% Firefox Nightly -> 30% - 35% Not even once the PC hanged or I had to restart the browser. Please try to install the latest version of the browser that might help. It does ask for the flash allowance, which can also play a factor to this problem but with the same Adobe version I had no problem. [bugday-20180122]
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0 (20180206200532) Shockwave Flash 28.0.0.161 Could you update to the latest Firefox version 58.0.2 and latest Flash 28.0.0.161 to check if you can still reproduce the issue and report back the results?
Flags: needinfo?(Spiro)
I confirm that with latest Mozilla Firefox/58.0.2 (64 bit) and latest Adobe Shockwave Flash 28.0.0.161 I DO NOT HAVE ANY ISSUE any longer. This issue was resolved with these updates. You can now close this thread. Many thanks for the valid support. Spiro
