Details
I have carefully set up the permissions on my installation of Bugzilla so that it works. It is a strange setup, maybe Apache suexec but maybe something else. Either way, I don't want checksetup to TOUCH the permissions. At all. There needs to be a way of stopping it from doing so. There used to be, but it has been removed (see bug 143108).

Yes :-) If such an option existed, I wouldn't have had to hack my checksetup.pl to undo any permission changes it performs, see bug 123165.
