User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 Build ID: 20180105075100 Steps to reproduce: Go to a page with GIFs. For example https://twitter.com/ManjaroLinux To stop that i went to about:config --> image.animation_mode and set the value to "none" Actual results: The GIFs are playing all the time. You cannot stop this. Expected results: The GIF should only start playing once or there should be a "Play"-button to start the GIF. (Using Firefox 57 on Manjaro Linux.)
(In reply to nutzer70080 from comment #0) > Go to a page with GIFs. For example https://twitter.com/ManjaroLinux Those aren't GIF images; they're MP4 videos. The site brings up a custom context menu, but you can override this by holding down Shift when you right-click. You can then see "View Video", "Save Video As…" and other such options in the menu. Set media.autoplay.enabled to false in about:config.

Ah okay. Thank you. I thought the animations were GIFs because it's labeled as this in the bottom left corner. media.autoplay.enabled to false works. Thank you very much! :-)
