User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0
Build ID: 20171129230227
Steps to reproduce:
* Add new account.
* Add name and email in form.
* Click Manual Configuration.
* Fill in detailed form with IMAP/SMTP server settings, taken from working profile.
* Click Re-test.
Actual results:
* Wizzard fails, cannot continue.
Expected results:
* Let me continue and add "bad" settings, and fix it later. There's many reasons why the settings could fail (out of the VPN, needs to accept certificate, etc.), but I might want to continue regardless. Just let me add the account as is, and modify it later. If necessary, enable this only with an about:config setting, but let people who know what they are doing just add the account.

I agree that this is desirable. On occasions when I configure an account something goes wrong, yet I want the account created anyway.
Severity: normal → enhancement
Summary: Add account without wizzard re-testing → Allow adding an account after manual configuration even if re-testing wasn't successful
Doesn't Advanced config button work in that case? Also I think there is the possibility to start the wizard after setting TB to offline mode.

Advanced config does not work in that case, because we are talking about settings that Thunderbird cannot validate right away.
Offline mode did it for me. It was just so hard to find that that worked...
