There is a marked difference in accessing this site between Moz.(linux) and other browsers. When using a recursive dns server like maradns it shows in the log: Timestamp: 1020945010 Log: Message received, processing Timestamp: 1020945010 Query from: 127.0.0.1 Uww4.janus.com. Timestamp: 1020945010 Log: Awaiting data on port 53 Timestamp: 1020945015 Log: Message received, processing Timestamp: 1020945015 Query from: 127.0.0.1 Uww4.janus.com. Timestamp: 1020945015 Log: Awaiting data on port 53 Timestamp: 1020945020 Log: Message received, processing Timestamp: 1020945020 Query from: 127.0.0.1 Uww4.janus.com. Timestamp: 1020945020 Log: Awaiting data on port 53 Timestamp: 1020945025 Log: Message received, processing Timestamp: 1020945025 Query from: 127.0.0.1 Uww4.janus.com. Timestamp: 1020945025 Log: Awaiting data on port 53 Timestamp: 1020945030 Log: Message received, processing Timestamp: 1020945030 Query from: 127.0.0.1 Aww4.janus.com. Timestamp: 1020945030 Log: Awaiting data on port 53 There are 5 requests 5 seconds apart. During that time the "Resolving" message shows in the status bar. No activity shows on a PPP monitor, other than the requests. I thought at first it was ISP related. But it isn't. Then I thought it was network related and installed the recursive nameservers. It isn't. Then I noticed that Opera6.0B1 and netscape 4.79 have no problem at all and start transferring data right away. (I have filed a evangelism bug on this site because the password manager won't be able to handle it the way it is setup) This behavior is constant in Mozilla, as far back as 0.9.9.

This is a special localhost DNS configuration right? What if you use a normal DNS configuration?

Damn. I'm sorry. It ain't mozilla. Switched distro levels and prob goes away. Who knows what it is. A mess, I guess. Thanks everybody that listens to these things and sorry for the intrusion again.
