Description

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.0rc1)
Gecko/2002041712
BuildID: 2002041712

At 9pm I downloaded Mozilla 2002041712.

At 12:30 am I launched Mozilla and got msg from bugzilla site:

N.B.: The Mozilla build you are using was made more than three weeks ago. If you
are going to report bugs, please download and use a newer build.

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download .dmg Mozilla for os x
2. install it
3. launch Mozilla

Actual Results: a new browser window opens and loads bugzilla.mozilla.org

On that page is a message:

N.B.: The Mozilla build you are using was made more than three weeks ago. If you
are going to report bugs, please download and use a newer build.

Expected Results: Well, I should have a current version from the download page,
right?

It depends upon which download page you speak of. It sounds like you downloaded
the latest "release" build which is not the most current build. There are
nightly builds under ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest-trunk/
that should be used to see if a bug still exists in the current codebase.

The bugzilla page should make a direct reference to nightly builds rather than
assuming that the reporter knows where to find "newer" builds.

my guess is that build official checking wasn't working, but whatever this bug
report isn't valid today.

This bug is really old and doesn't seem valid anymore. haven't had that problem
again.
