We should use the monospace font.

We should also consider changing the background and text color.
I quite like how http://projectfluent.org/play/ looks, including the syntax highlighting.

Personally I prefer light background for the FTL source editor. It's consistent with the other inputs in the translation UI.
Yeah, the long term plan is to ACE editor or similar in the future.

This is just a baby step. :)

Agreed about the light background color.

Making this a Translate.Next bug as we are very unlikely to ever do that change to the current Translate page.

Fix bug 1433994 - Show an Ace editor for Fluent strings (#1162)

When the format of a string to translate is Fluent, render an Ace editor instead of a simple <textarea>. We use Ace as it is better supported with React, and Stas already wrote some plugins to go with it for the Fluent playground, plugins that we reuse here.
