From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.0+)
Gecko/20020509
BuildID: 2002050908

While downloading this rather large image over a slow connection I opened
another Mozilla window to browse somewhere else but I could not type in a new
address in the URL bar. The original window where I was downloading the image
didn't accept keystrokes in its URL bar either.

Then when I came to this page via a bookmark I couldn't type in any of the
textboxes either.

Keyboard input returned after the image finished loading.

No other applications were effected while Mozilla wasn't responding to keystrokes.

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Browse to: http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/png-MagnoliaAlpha.html
2. Click on the picture of the Magnolia tree
3. Open a new Mozilla browser window
4. Click on the URL Bar and (try) to enter a new address.

Actual Results: Nothing! No keystrokes accepted.

Expected Results: A new URL entered from my keyboard in the URL bar.

When my connection speed improved the bug went away.

maybe just some sort of slowdown casued by the opening of the ftp transaction?
Well it wasn't a total slowdown-- hyperlinks in other Mozilla windows worked.

Tried with 1.2 Alpha and couldn't make it happen again.
