After 0.9.9 (lat one I had that worked) the browser will insert spaces where it
shouldn't  Namely this appears to be related to table or image spacing problems.

For two examples:

http://www.rit.edu/~wjl3191/daemons/about.html

Both of these are valid HTML 4.01 Transitional and are validated by W3C.

Note: Both pages work fine in Netscape 6, Mozilla 0.9.7/0.9.8/0.9.9, OmniWeb,
iCab, Internet Explorer (PC, Mac, MacOS X).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to site at http://www.rit.edu/~wjl3191/daemons/
2.Compare in Mozilla 1.0fc1/fc2 with 0.9.9 or Netscape 6
3.Natice the spacing (that is the bug)

Actual Results:  Got some nice spacing between images in tables.

Expected Results:  There should have been no spaces between images.  Look at in
other browsers.

Was using the defualt (Clasic) theme, not that it should matter.

The code in question is table code.

I find it hard to believe that you didn't see the gaps in 0.9.9. The  gaps
appear in my copy of 0.9.9 on OS X as expected considering the doctype. Are you
sure you didn't change the doctype after testing with 0.9.9? The doctype you are
using hits a doctype sniffing bug in Netscape 6.x and in old Mozilla builds
which is why the gaps don't appear in Netscape 6.x.

This issue is well known and not-a-bug. I'm marking this bug as a duplicate of
