:: Developer Documentation Request Request Type: Correction Gecko Version: unspecified Technical Contact: :: Details Location of my Computer: Austria navigator.languages: ["en-US", "en"] How do the MDN docs decide which language to use? How can I change the settings in my browsers (Chromium, Firefox) to get English-only pages by default? The setting may not depend on a cookie or local storage since I am surfing in private mode.

how do you reach the document? if you've used search engine, that means the search engine leads you to localized page, and changing the search engine setting will solve it.

I type my MDN searches into the address bar of Firefox (for instance "mdn array" to search for the JavaScript array object). The search engine is chosen automatically by Firefox. As you can see from my screenshot in the attachment, I cannot choose any language. For some reason it seems to prefer google.at instead of google.com.
The reason why I need a solution to this problem is that the quality of the German MDN pages is a disaster. I cannot understand why they even exist. It is 100% waste of time. Developers are used to read English docs. It confuses me if I am forced to read docs in bad German. If somebody thinks they are needed for some reason, please hide them away from the majority of developers who do not need them.

I meant, the setting *in* the search engine website. google provides the way to configure language for the search result (Setting - Languages, or something)
Since my browsers are launched in private mode by default (for privacy, performance and developing reasons), such a setting won't last. I need a solution which can be configured in the browser.
