This is not a regression. The same behavior can be observed also on build 26.0a1 (2013-09-14). Before this date this sample was not supported. Note that after trying to "jump" randomly on the seek bar and then let the audio playing for several minutes the "Problem loading page" - "The connection was reset" error is triggered. (see the screenshot) This behaviour is not always reproducible, but I was able to observe it on Firefox 60.01 (2018-02-14, Firefox 59.0b9 and Firefox 58.0.2 under Ubuntu 16.04 x64, macOS 10.13 and Windows 10 x64. I tried to reproduce the error with other mp3 samples, but I've only succeed with audio samples found on http://www.calprog.com/sound_samples1.htm .

Thanks, Anca. This sounds like a network error rather than a playback problem. I wasn't able the reproduce (today's Nightly 60 on macOS 10.13). Can you please try reproducing with the network tab of the developer tools open, and see if there's an error there?

Here you have a screenshot showing the Network tab before and after the loading error is triggered. This was tested on Windows 10 x64, with the latest Nightly (2018-02-18).
