User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.12; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0
Build ID: 20180206200532
Steps to reproduce:
As requested on the Reddit thread, I've recorded my profile usage and recorded a video of what happens to reproduce the issue of Firefox using up too much of the CPU.
This happens in many different ways, but I recorded the most common - using multiple tabs. If I have more than 10 tabs open at any one time, Firefox becomes sluggish and starts to eat up a ton of CPU usage. This has only mainly happened since V58, but I do recall it being a little slow on 56 and 57 (but I don't really remember).
Here's the extra info you've requested:
"In it describe your setup (Operating System and version, hardware, CPU, RAM, graphic card)"
Operating System and version: macOS Sierra (NOT High Sierra) 10.12.6
Hardware: MacBook Pro Retina (15-inch, Late 2013 Model)
CPU: 2.3 Ghz Intel Core i7
RAM: 16GB 1600 Mhz DDR3
graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
I had to add the profile link here as an attachment as it would not generate a shareable link...
Video link: https://youtu.be/cXy5AgC0Rxw
Actual results:
Firefox became extremely slow, my fans started to go crazy, and as seen in the below video, CPU usage became extremely high. The only way to resolve this issue is to go back to using very few tabs.
Also - this has still been reproduced by myself in the latest Firefox Nightly (60), as well as on the latest Firefox version myself.
Expected results:
It should work just fine :) Ha! (I guess it should work without eating up the CPU usage)

Rachel, do you still have a profile of this happening? You mention that you added it as an attachment, but there's no attachment in this bug. Additionally, would you by any chance be able to help us by narrowing in on when this started using mozregression (https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/install.html)?
