Using Thunderbird since 1990's. Now all emails I send arrive with ?????? question marks added to text. Just started today. Please help. Two separate PC's with Tbird are doing this.

Steps to reproduce:

when I send emails(Thunderbird) there are question marks added inside my text.  Many at a time.  

EG:...  Now is the time.?????????For all good men.????????????? To come to the aid.?????????


and so on.  I have found that TWO of my PC's have the same problem.  One has 52.6.0 (32bit) Thunderbird and the other one has 58.0.2 (64bit).   Please help. It just started today.

no question marks ADDED.

This is a current problem with all e-mail services provided by AT&T, Yahoo, BellSouth, etc.

Workaround: Set preference mail.strictly_mime to true.

Resolution: --- → DUPLICATE
Note: Multiple spaces get converted to non-breaking spaces and they get transmitted as 8bit characters which don't get transmitted properly.
