143975 - problems loading url/ preferences/ personal toolbar?

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows 95)
BuildID:    2002051006 (=rc2)

1. url's entered in address bar result in hourglass, but no site is loaded
2. links on personal toolbar do not result in page being loaded (home page icon 
did work)
3. can't access preferences (items on left pane cannot be drilled into)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce: install (on this machine), try

Actual Results: rc2 does not work at all for me, though rc1 worked fine.

* is win95 osr2
* reinstalled, rebooted, .. still does not work
* checked preferences-files manually, proxy looks ok

Have you used the zip build for RC1 and now the installer ?

Please unisnatll mozilla, delete all files in c:\programs\mozilla.org (save your
plugins first) and reinstall mozilla.

yes, rc1 was installed from zip. i installed rc2 with the full installer. later
removed mozilla (using add/remove program files) and reinstalled. 

i'll try the more thorough appraoch (remove + manually delete all files and than
reinstall) later today..

removed (using add/remove programs), deleted mozilla folder (did not think about
that possibility), reinstalled, works ok. thanks matthias.

Please don't install over an zip build without deleting the directory
