From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.0rc2) Gecko/20020510 BuildID: 2002051006 Problem occurs with TweakUI from the windows XP powertoys package (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp). When a pop-up appears (for example, when pausing the cursor over a Search Result in the Search sidebar), they persist even when another windows is brought to the forefront to cover the original window. If the mouse cursor is then passed over the pop-up, the originating window is "slammed" to the foreground. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install TweakUI and enable focus-follows mouse ("Activation follows mouse"), but disable "Autoraise when activating" 2.Open a browser window and perform a google search using the Search sidebar. 3.Pass the cursor over one of the results and wait for a popup description of that result to appear. 4.Move the cursor to another window, being careful not to do anything that would make the popup disappear. Click on that window to bring it to the foreground. 5.Verify that the popup is still visible OVER the window you just clicked on (it should not be over that window) 6.Pass the cursor over the popup, and verify that the originating window comes to the foreground immediately. Actual Results: As described in description Expected Results: The popup window should either disappear when the originating window loses focus, or it should be hidden behind any other windows that are brought to the foreground. Passing the cursor over the popup should not auto-raise the originating window
This isn't a problem with X-Mouse, it's a problem with tooltips. If you have X-Mouse turned off and get into the same situation, clicking on the tooltip will sometimes bring its owner window to the foreground. The bug is that tooltips don't disappear all the time when the owner window loses focus. I'm sure there's already a bug filed on that.
