From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0rc2) Gecko/20020510 BuildID: 2002051006 i think that the mouse scroll wheel should not depend on where the mouse pointer is at. this causes the scroll wheel to be extremely hard to use on dropdown objects. it also is a hassle when you are clicking the back or forward buttons, and then you have to move the mouse a little back and forth in order to scroll the page. i think that the mouse scroll wheel should operate exactly as it does in netscape navigator 4.79. the mouse wheel should scroll the focuses scrollable thing. also, besides the fact that i do not like this, the scroll wheel operates differently. in this text box i am typing in, the scroll wheel only scrolls the text box, no matter where the pointer is located on the page. however, for dropdowns, and the entire page, it depends on where the mouse pointer is located. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open any page longer than the screen 2.move the mouse pointer around, and notice the inconsistency of how the scroll wheel works while you are moving the pointer around. 3.
this report actually raises multiple issues, but they all seem to have been filed. duping to the one that is the substance of this report. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 33732 ***
