Details
One thing Chrome's safe browsing implementation does, that we do not, is that when an archive (RAR, ZIP) is downloaded, Chrome unpacks it and performs a safe browsing malicious executable check for each of the files in the archive. We should consider doing something similar. (My understanding is that we currently don't, if that's wrong, sorry for the noise!)

I don't know that Chrome looks inside .rar files, but they do look inside .zip (and .dmg on Mac). It's definitely on my list of things to tackle once we have a Safe Browsing team again.
