sorry, I pushed enter by mistake ...

I have the following URL bookmarked:
https://secure.ally.com/

If you go to that page, you'll see the favicon is a purple "a". This favicon has appeared in my bookmarks correctly for years. However, since I think FF57 or FF58, occasionally the favicon in the bookmarks is getting replaced with a Firefox icon! The effect survives browser restarts, visiting the page, etc. This has happened twice so far. The Firefox icon is showing in the location bar results and in the bookmarks sidebar, but the correct favicon is shown on the tab when I visit the page.

I believe the only way to correct the issue is to delete the bookmark, restart the browser, and then re-add the bookmark.

For whatever it may be worth, this is the only bookmark I've seen this happen to. It's also The first bookmark in the first folder, if that's relevant.
Maybe related to the same bug causing bug 1428751

i believe this is the same as bug 1428751 (although i don't think that bug is titled broadly enough)

the firefox icon that's replacing the correct favicon for the site is the same firefox icon that's associated with my home page (about:home)

the OP for that bug also mentions visiting the bookmark before the home page has fully loaded ... i believe this also may be applicable in my case, as, when I visit the ally bookmark, it's the first thing I do after opening the browser, and the content area of firefox takes a while to load when i first start firefox (this is probably happening when i enter it in to the location bar before the content area has loaded)
I think this was the same as bug 1488296, that is fixed in Firefox 63b9, please let us know if it should persist from 63 on.
