During the download/install process the Installer windows constantly appear and disappear so the user does not visually know if the installer is still running. There should be a status window open throughout the entire process. Even with a fast machine, I get significantly long pauses between windows.

With Moz 1.3, the two longest pauses (about a minute each) on my slowest box (a Pentium Pro 200 MHz) is between "Installing Gecko Runtime" and "Installing Navigator", and before opening the Mozilla splash window. Without a visual indicator, one can be misled into thinking the install either silently completed or aborted.
this is not a problem with linux ==> windows
