Splitting damp.js in several smaller seems to have made the tests slightly faster: around 2 to 4% speedup on most tests on windows (see Bug 1441703 comment 33 for a more detailed breakdown)

A possible explanation is that we are sharing the same devtools loader between the test runner and the tests themselves. So some modules might now be preloaded and make tests a bit faster. 

Not sure why it impacted all tests though, something such as the "select node" test should be quite isolated from this kind of side effects, but saw a speedup regardless.
