Upgrading from 6.x to PR1 causes the General Settings section of Mail&Newsgroups
Preference to become nonfunctional. No checkboxes can be modified. 

STEPS:
1. Install 6.x
2. Install PR1 into same directory as 6.x.
3. Goto Edit|Preferences|Mail&Newsgroups

RESULT:
The checkboxes are not functional, unable to select/deselect. Location text
field is not functional as well.

NOTE: Switching to a different preference category and then back to
Mail&Newsgroup displays the General Settings correctly with values correctly
displayed. And your able to modify the settings and those settings are saved.

Another note, verified that a fresh install of PR1 displays the General Settings
of Mail&Newsgroups correctly. The problems seems to only occur after you upgrade
by installing PR1 over existing 6.x installation.

6.x and PR1 are obsolete and long gone.
