User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:59.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/59.0 Build ID: 20180316021607 Steps to reproduce: Selecting / highlighting text from a terminal window (xterm, MATE terminal, xfce4-terminal) and using X Window selection / primary selection to copy the selected text into Firefox via the mouse middle click action. Actual results: The selected text from the terminal application didn't copy into Firefox. Expected results: The selected text from the terminal application should be copied into Firefox when using primary selection.

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:59.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/59.0 I have tested this issue on Linux 4.12.8-2-ARCH with the latest Firefox release (59.0.1) and the latest Nightly (61.0a1-20180321040527) and haven't managed to reproduce the issue. After opening a Terminal window(xfce4-terminal v0.8.6) writing a text and selecting it, when switching to the browser and performing midle click in the address bar, the selected text is succesfully pasted. Could you please retest this using the latest Firefox release and latest Nightly build and report back the results? (You can download the latest Nightly build from here https://goo.gl/57dpxn) When doing this, please use a new clean Firefox profile, maybe even safe mode, to eliminate custom settings as a possible cause (https://goo.gl/AR5o9d).

Did it work in Firefox 58?

Considering the fact that I cannot reproduce this and the fact that the reporter did not answered to my request until now, I will mark this as Resolved-Incomplete. If anyone can still reproduce it, feel free to reopen the issue and provide more information.

I will try to use the regression tool. We are definately experiencing it on a shared system where people access it through VNC sessions. I will also try and see if I can reproduce it locally through a local VNC server/client. Which should make it easier for you to re-produce it.
Forget what I just wrote. Thought this was a comment for the "non-duplicate" bug linked from here...
