I've had this happen a few times although I'm still not quite sure why. I had 94% utilization by Mozilla for a prolonged period. There were not that many applications running and I do not believe that the system was thrashing. The site opened was rather generic. I believe I've seeen this happen a few times and I will look into this further posting more firm results when I have them. This is in Mozilla 1.0 rc2 Windows Build 200251006
this bug is *so* not useful. if you're going to report a resource leak please indicate a tool, a test setup and the output from the tool indicating a leak. fwiw we've committed patches to the 1.0 branch post rc2 to make mozilla leak less on windows. fyi cpu usage is not generally considered a resource that is leakable.
