User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:59.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/59.0 Build ID: 20180315233128 Steps to reproduce: Want to upload a file from my Downloads folder on Windows 10 x64 while it has 700+ files and 7GB+ size. I want these files to be sorted by date DESC, which is already set as default. Actual results: The upload files window appear sorted by name. I can scroll up and down, change the sort criteria, change the direction of sort, or just wait, but no matter what I do It takes Several minutes for the files to be sorted by date DESC. For this reasons I have to have open an explorer window or a total commander tab with downloads opened to have access to the latest files in the Downloads folder, constantly remind myself to close the upload file window and drag a file into the browser, and upload it that way. Expected results: The file upload window should appear with the files sorted the default way (by date DESC) instantly or it shouldn't take no more than a few seconds to sort the files. Total Commander sorts the same folder by date instantly and even the windows file explorer does it in less than 3 seconds - even on a slow notebook hard drive with 7GB+ data.
Correction - the windows explorer also takes minutes the first time upon boot, but later if its closed and opened again, it sorts the folder in seconds.
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0 Build ID: 20180323100142 Hello, I have tested this issue on latest Firefox release 59.0.1 and latest Nightly build 61.0a1 and could not reproduce it. I have accessed my Google Drive account and tried to upload a file from my "Downloads" folder, which is populated with 711 items (25,8 GB) and everything worked as expected. I also changed the sorting type and it changed very fast. Is this issue reproducible on third-party applications (eg. Skype) or other browsers (eg. Chrome)? Can you also please provide in a .txt document the information from the "about:support" page? You can do this by navigating to "about:support" page, click the "Copy raw data to clipboard" button and paste the information in a .txt document. Thanks.

Upon further investigation it seems that multiple things influenced this. When I open the downloads folder for uploading a file, Windows defender appears to scan it. I had a big iso and exe and zip files, that may have influenced it. Also if I change the view from Large icons to something that doesn't show thumbnails it speeds it up a little (because i have a lot of jpegs and pngs). Also I have a slow hard drive. So it appears to be a combination of the storage device speed, antivirus software used and thumbnail generation.
