User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0
Build ID: 20180315232954

Steps to reproduce:

Right click on an element, holding the button down. Move mouse to an item and release the button and it selects the context menu.

Actual results:

On mouse click cycle down-up, will pull up and select an item. Not even enough time to see the menu.

Expected results:

Although reproducing this will exaggerate the timing of everything. I will right click as moving the mouse, and unintentionally select a context menu item. Usually the back button.

I'd expect a time delay of at least 100ms to allow for the separation of actions, or for the context menu to respond to down-up complete cycle.
Component: General → DOM: Events
Menu responding to mouseup of the mousedown that opened the menu is standard behavior since the 1980s. Adding a tiny delay before item selection is accepted might be worthwhile.
Priority: -- → P5
Summary: right click context menu opens on mouse down, and responds to mouse up. → Add a small delay for mouseup of context menu-opening mousedown selecting a menu item
