User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 Build ID: 20180322152034 Steps to reproduce: 1. Run Firefox 2. Insert PKI card 2nd case 1. Run Firefox with PKI card inserted already 2. Use the PKI card 3. Remove the PKI card Actual results: Firefox Hangs in both cases Expected results: Firefox continue working as in version 59. For the PKI card to be used, a dll is loaded in the security devices. Please inform me how to troubleshoot further.

Hi George Billios, Can you please try to reproduce this in Safe mode? You can follow the steps from here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode If it is still reproducing, would you be willing to help try to narrow down a more-specific culprit? Given the application, it could be very difficult to track down on our end. We have a tool called mozregression that will automate the process of downloading various builds from during the Firefox 59 development cycle to narrow down the change that's causing problems. Information on the tool is available at http://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/.

Hi, of course I can't reproduce it in safe mode because in safe mode Firefox unloads all the security devices and doesn't allow you to add one, thus the PKI card is not visible in Firefox in order to try to reproduce this issue. I'll try to use the regression tool but it seems like it doesn't work behind a proxy thus I'll only have a limited window to test it.

I run the regression tool and I think we have something. Bug 1432177 - bump NSS version in old-configure.in I also attach the whole log.

Thank you George Billios for the reply. We cannot reproduce the issue due to the lack of a PKI card. Based on comment 3 and comment 4 I am marking the issue as New on component: Security:PSM
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Component: Untriaged → Security: PSM
Ever confirmed: true
Product: Firefox → Core

Can you try with the latest nightly? There have been locking issues that have been resolved recently.

Just tried with 61.01a (2018-04-03)64bit Built from https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/00bdc9451be6557ccce1492b9b966d4435615380 and I *can't* replicate the issue so it looks good. I would love though to have this fixed in 60b since next version is like a month away.

Great to hear that it's fixed! This will get fixed in 60 soonish, see bug 1448404. Marking as duplicate of bug 1447628 as it seems to be the same issue that was fixed there.
