From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020417
BuildID: 2002041711
When right-clicking a image, you are displayed a menu, one of the options being
"View Image". I think Mozilla should allow the user to choose if he/she wants to
view the image in a new tab/window because if the image loads in the same
tab/window. I propose this because when I use the view image feature I don't
want to click the Back button again or if I do click the Back button, I will
have to login in again into a secure web page.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Move your mouse onto a image.
2.Right click the image.
3.Menu pops up.
4.Hesitate to click "View Image" because you know the image is going to apperar
in the same tab/window.
Actual Results: Only the image I right clicked appeared in the same tab/window
I was using.
Expected Results: I propose Mozilla allows the user to display the image in a
new tab/window.
You may want the option to be available in the Preferences.

I'm for this one too.
On a side note: sometime during 0.9.x the FILENAME of the image was taken OUT of
the R-click-menu. (Now it just says "View image" instead of "View image foo.jpg")
Nowadays if I want to know the filename and/or extension/format of the image I
need to view the image on its own.
Removing this was a degradation of functionality IMO. Can't this be reversed please?

Darn. Ignore last comment. I should've found Bug 136110 in Bugzilla search first.

Perhaps instead of adding another selection in the context menu, we could allow
CTRL-"View Image" to open in a new window or tab (depending on the setting of
Preferences->Navigator->Tabbed Browsing->Middle click or control click in a Web
Page.)

Perhaps Ctrl-click on an image would open it in a new tab or window (depending
on the preferences).

Reassigning obsolete bugs to their respective Seamonkey owners (i.e. nobody).
If you want this fixed for Firefox, change the Product and Component accordingly
and reassign back to me.
